TeRRIFICA project - Territorial RRI Fostering Innovative Climate Action
The main objective of TeRRIFICA is to influence citizens to influence climate change mitigation and adaptation policies through a series of responsible research and innovation (RRI) actions and the co-creation of knowledge between relevant actors from six European pilot regions.
TERRIFICA (Territorial RRI Fostering Innovative Climate Action) is a European project, approved in the Science with and for Society (SwafS) call and funded under the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program .
Among its objectives, we emphasize that the project aims to:
- Involve citizens in the process of setting the current agenda for climate change
- Develop, test and evaluate specific actions (pilots) focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation
- Promote RRI and include it in regional contexts
- Implement co-creation projects within the pilot regions of the project, including co-creation methodologies
- Develop action plans, or response actions, focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation, and which will promote some institutional and governance change
The project, executed from January 2019 to December 2022, is coordinated by the science shop Wila Bonn (Bonn, Germany), and has the participation of a transdisciplinary consortium consisting of three research institutions, three non-profit organizations , a public association of universities and a public institution for the promotion of science: Rhine-Waal University (Kleve, Germany), University of Vechta (Vechta, Germany), Education for Sustainable Development Association (Minsk, Belarus), Association Catalana d'Universitats Públiques (Barcelona, Spain), Sciences Citoyennes (Paris, France), Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan, Poland) and Center for the Promotion of Science (Belgrade, Serbia).
The ACUP / GUNi leads the WP of communication and dissemination of the project and coordinates, together with the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) and Quim Brugué, as an expert in participatory methodologies, the activities that make up the pilot of the project in the territory metropolitan area of Barcelona.
