Community Based Research: Strengthen partnerships and evolving best practices in Higher Education Institutions

This event aims to give a better understanding on Community University Research, which attempts to investigate the existing structures for the facilitation of an effective research partnership between Higher Education institutions (HEis) and Civil Society Organizations. It’s also part of the activities organized by GUNi to promote global emerging issues in Higher Education and, in which Community Based Research is a noteworthy topic.

Two international recognized scholars, Dr. Rajesh Tandon, from India, and Dr. Budd Hall, from Canada, both co-Directors and co-Chairs of the UNESCO Chair on Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, will expose and discuss the concept of Community University Research Partnership and highlight some key issues of the topic, as wells as relevant worldwide experiences of this study. They will also present two publications on this issue: the E-book “Strengthening Community University Research Partnership: Global Perspectives” and a user’s manual on “Institutionalizing Community University Research Partnership”, that will be open content resources. These studies aims to focus on the increasing importance of the Community Engagement and provide a guide of best practices addressed to HEis and their communities in order to strength their partnership.
