The delegation of new public universities in Ethiopia expressed its satisfaction after visiting Catalonia to know the Catalan public universities model

The delegation of sixteen university presidents and managers of new public universities in Ethiopia that has participated in a training seminar in Barcelona, between March 12 and 16, as part of a European project coordinated by the Maastricht School of Management (MSM), the European Association for Strategic Management in Universities (ESMU) and the International Centre for Development Oriented Research in Agriculture (ICRA) expressed its satisfaction after its visit. In the final evaluation, the group expressed that the visit had been beyond expectations, very well organized, and with a large diversity of exposures.

During the week, the delegation visited different universities, members of the Catalan Association of Public Universities, and participated in different seminars where the Catalan public university model will be exposed. Thus, the program aimed to discover the strategies and policies implemented in our country, so that the Ethiopian delegation to draw positive experiences that serve to strengthen the new public universities in Ethiopia.

The president of the ACUP and president of the University Rovira i Virgili, Francesc X. Grau, welcomed the delegation and participated in the seminars. Other experts that have taken part in the program were: Jennifer Somerville, ESMU senior expert; Meinhard Gans, director of international projects of the MSM; Huub Mudde, Project Consultant of the MSM; Gemma Rauret, former director of the AQU and ANECA; Carles Solà, former Catalan ministry of Universities and former president of the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, and Josep M.
