The ACUP and the Catalan Government visit the Netherlands to learn about its university and research system

 On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 15 and 16, a delegation of the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP) and the Catalan Government visit the Netherlands to learn about its university and research system, as a reference for our country. The delegation consists of the Secretary of the Catalan Government for Universities and Research, Antoni Castellà; the President of the ACUP and rector of the Rovira i Virgili University, Francesc Xavier Grau; the general director of Universities, Lluís Jofre; the president of the social council of the Pompeu Fabra University, Núria Basi, and the ACUP’s executive secretary, Josep M. Vilalta.

The meetings will be held in The Hague and Amsterdam and will focus on institutional governance, funding and university research, policy and structure of university staff, science policy and entrepreneurship, employment and the transfer of knowledge. The Catalan delegation will meet, among others, members of the Ministry of Education Culture and Science of the Netherlands and the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). It will meet also with the Association of Universities for Research in the Netherlands (VSNU), whose president, Sijbolt Noorda, is member of the advisory board of the Catalan Association of Public Universities.
