A thousand elementary students have participated at the Children's University of Catalonia

A thousand elementary students from different schools in Catalonia have visited on February 13 the eight universities of the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP) to participate in organized activities of higher education institutions. This is the third edition of the activity "The school visits the college" scheduled as part of the Children's University of Catalonia (UDN ². Cat). In the three editions held so far of the activity  more than 3,000 elementary students have met the university facilities. During the activity, the universities open their doors to elementary school students. It is an initiative that aims to introduce children to the scientific and academic world, awakening their interest in science, culture and knowledge.

The udn2.cat programme is structured around a series of activities related to university life and tailor-designed for students, and which also seeks to share the experience with parents and family, with a special focus on the most underprivileged social strata. The idea is to arouse the curiosity of both children and parents alike to university life and increase their awareness of the role of science, technology and culture in general.
