Today begins the first week of the Skills training program for Haitian university professors. ACUP is developing the Program in close collaboration with the Université du Sud-est à Jacmel (UPSEJ). This training program has the financial support of the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID). The Program’s main objective is to improve the teaching skills of professors in Haitian regional public universities. Thirty deans and professors will take part of it. The Program consists of four training modules. The first two will take place throughout this week in Jacmel, Haiti. The academic coordinators in charge are Anna Cross and Thomas Peire from the Faculty of Education of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Faculty members of several universities linked to the ACUP will also participate in the Program. In parallel, a team of experts will work with the UPSEJ staff in order to strengthen its institutional capacity and to design a virtual campus for this institution.
