CTI Platform organizes the 'International Seminar on Innovation for territorial competitiveness' on November 19th

On November 19th the CTI Platform will organize the ‘International Seminar on Innovation for territorial competitiveness’. The event will take place at the Palau Macaya, Obra Social “La Caixa”, in Barcelona. Rector Enric Fossas, president of the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP), and Jaume Giró, general director of the Fundació Bancària “la Caixa” (tbc) will open the seminar.

Soumitra Dutta, dean and professor of management and organizations of the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and co-author of the Global Innovation Index, will conference on territory and innovation. After the speech a debate on innovation strategies for regional competitiveness will take place. Joan Trullén, director of the IERMB, will moderate the round-table. The invited speakers are Markku Markkula, chairman of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union; James Wilson, a researcher of Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness and a third speaker form an organization representing European business (tbc).

During the second part of the seminar Rector Fossas, Joaquim Gay de Montellà, president of Fomento del Trabajo Nacional (tbc) and Josep González, president of PIMEC will present the Agenda for innovation and regional competitiveness in Catalonia 2015-2020.
