ACUP and GUNi collaborate in the organization of the International Conference 'The Contribution of HE on the United Nations 2030 Agenda’

ACUP and GUNi will collaborate in the organization of the International Conference 'The Contribution of HE on the United Nations 2030 Agenda’, which is led by the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the Jaume Bofill Foundation. The event will be held on 8 and 9 October at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site and will have various sessions and workshops. During those days, participants will have the opportunity to discuss about the role of Higher Education at the educational international agenda and will help to define specific actions to be developed in order to achieve the goals adopted by the United Nations (UN).

2015 is an important turning point in the international agenda, especially regarding education. It has been 15 years since the Campaign “Education for All” (EFA) promoted by UNESCO and the Millennium Development Goals, led by UN has been launched. Nowadays we are facing a key moment in order to achieve the new international goals until 2030. Many countries and organizations worldwide are involved in this mission and, the IAU with the support of UNESCO is the institution which represents the Higher Education sector and leads the project for this UN Campaign: HEEFA – Higher Education for Education for All.

Knowing the importance and challenges of the Education 2030, GUNi and ACUP reinforces their commitment with Higher Education through the collaboration with Jaume Boffill Foundation in organizing this Conference. This action will help to define the roadmap of Higher Education based on the goals reflected at the 2030 Education Agenda. At this conference recommendations for all universities around the world regarding the social responsibility of Universities will be defined. The event will be attended by representatives of the international group HEEFA IAU, different stakeholders from universities and the international educational international community.
